Earthsave Baltimore is a nonprofit educational group that helps people learn a healthier and more peaceful way of eating and living. We help people take their next step toward a whole foods, plant based diet and a healthier lifestyle.

Our Veg/Vegan Educational Dinner Series usually meets on the last Saturday of the month, and gives folks the opportunity to connect with friendly, like minded people. We will meet at our new venue, in the fellowship hall of Govans Presbyterian Church, 5828 York Rd, Baltimore, 21212. The church is located a little south of the historic Senator Theater, on the same side of the street as the Senator.

Dana Simpler, MD, will speak on "Diet Wars - Who to Believe". Dr. Simpler will review the health benefits of a plant based diet and tell how it compares to the Mediterranean diet, American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association diets. Dr. Dana Simpler is a board certified Internist with over 25 years experience in Primary Care/Internal Medicine. Dr. Simpler is a practicing physician whose primary focus is on diet and lifestyle. DINNER GUESTS may choose to either bring a dish made without animal products (to serve 8) plus $5 (members pay just $2) donation; pay $15 (members pay just $12) to enjoy dinner and presentation; or pay $5 for presentation only. We eat first, then make announcements, and then hear the presentation. Let us know in advance, if possible, if you plan to pay for dinner rather than bring a dish. Nov. 25th, from 6-8:30 pm, Earthsave's annual Thanks-Living Vegan Celebration, a veg/vegan potluck dinner, with live music from Don Robertson, Margie Roswell, and Louis Carl, cooking awards, an opportunity for attendees to share an insight or success story on diet and lifestyle change. Vaile Leonard is founder and Executive Director of the Light of Truth Center, which is celebrating 17 years of providing safe, clean and affordable housing to women in recovery. Vaile has been a visionary force in bringing innovative ideas and people together to change the face of recovery. For twelve years, Vaile worked as a trained, certified state volunteer, serving women in Maryland penal institutions where she gained invaluable experience in assessing the needs of women embarking on new lives, and re-entering the community. (Donations of new and gently used women's clothing, shoes, and accessories will be accepted and included in Ginny and Don Robertson's annual clothing sale to benefit the Light of Truth Center.)
