Earthsave Baltimore is a nonprofit educational group that helps people learn a healthier and more peaceful way of eating and living. We help people take their next step toward a whole foods, plant based diet and a healthier lifestyle.

Our Veg/Vegan Educational Dinner Series usually meets on the last Saturday of the month, and gives folks the opportunity to connect with friendly, supportive. like minded people. We meet in the fellowship hall of Govans Presbyterian Church, 5828 York Rd, Baltimore, 21212. The church is located next to the historic Senator Theater, on the same side of the street as the Senator.

Veg/Vegan potluck and speaker: Dietitian Mark Rifkin will present "Navigating Health Care As a Vegan" Medical doctors typically receive very little training in nutrition, and many of us are rightly concerned as to whether or not physicians can be key allies in our healthcare. Registered Dietitian and long term vegan Mark Rifkin will review these issues and make suggestions as to how and why responsible healthy vegans can and should engage, without undue stress, with the mainstream health care system.

Mark Rifkin, MS, RD, has been vegan since 1986 and a Registered Dietitian and educator since 2005. He shares his expertise and recipes in the popular Facebook support group "Ask A Vegan Dietitian", where you can ask nutrition questions and get solid answers from an RD with years of experience in the vegan lifestyle. Mark is especially adept at reading and evaluating nutrition research. We're sure to hear some good info and useful health care advice especially geared for vegetarians and vegans. Learn more at

DINNER GUESTS may choose to either bring a dish made without animal products (to serve 8) plus $5 (members pay just $2) donation; pay $15 (members pay just $12) to enjoy dinner and presentation; or pay $5 for presentation only. We eat first, then make announcements, and then hear the presentation. Let us know in advance, if possible, if you plan to pay for dinner rather than bring a dish.
