MONTHLY VEG MEETUP DISCUSSION GROUP gatherings are casual and are held in restaurants over great vegetarian food. Discussions include a variety of topics that support people in making healthier, earth friendly choices in diet and lifestyle.

There are two different groups, one vegan and one vegetarian. The Vegetarian Meetup meets at the popular vegetarian Indian Restaurant Mango Grove at 8865 Stanford Boulevard, Columbia, Maryland, 21045, on the first Sunday at 12:30 pm. Contact the restaurant at 410-884-3426 or email them info@themangogrove.net. http://themangogrove.net/ And the Vegan Meetup gets together at Mr. Chan Szechuan in Pikesville on the third Wednesday at 7 pm. Both groups welcome anyone who is interested in learning about healthier eating. For details, or to register and let others know you plan to attend, go to http://vegetarian.meetup.com/9/, or to http://vegan.meetup.com/29/.

Members and guests get the opportunity to introduce themselves and let us know what led to your interest in diet and lifestyle change... or you may prefer to ask a question, or ask for advice on a challenge you are facing. You might want to share a life experience or success story... or perhaps an idea about how we might better spread the word about a healthier and more peaceful away of eating.

Earthsave's veg/vegan dinner series normally meets on the last Saturday of each month, at Govans Presbyterian Church, next to the historic Senator Theater. But this month we'll meet a week earlier instead, on the 18th, in order to avoid competing with Vegan Soulfest in Baltimore, in which Earthsave will participate. Please RSVP and join us if you can!

Saturday, Aug. 18th, 6-8:30 pm, Veg/Vegan potluck and speaker in Baltimore: Kathleen Kinsolving will present "Vegans Go to the Movies: A history of Animals in Cinema". Kathleen's presentation will include photos and film clips that point to the progress that's been made over the years with regard to the treatment of animals in the movie-making industry. And she will focus on several films that especially helped reshape our thinking about animals. Kathleen Kinsolving is a high school instructor and vegan who teaches English and film appreciation classes and loves to focus on films that help us understand and appreciate animals. Please RSVP and join us if you can!

DINNER GUESTS may choose to either bring a dish made without animal products (to serve 8) plus $5 (members pay just $2) donation; pay $15 (members pay just $12) to enjoy dinner and presentation; or pay $5 for presentation only. We eat first, then make announcements, and then hear the presentation. Let us know in advance, if possible, if you plan to pay for dinner rather than bring a dish. RSVP by calling 410-252-3043, or emailing Baltimore@Earthsave.org. Meetings are held at Govans Presbyterian Church, 5828 York Rd, Baltimore, 21212. Drive around church to large parking lot, where you'll see white Earthsave banner near the the Fellowship Hall entry. Please RSVP and join us!
